City International Hospital is always on a mission of bringing public health awareness and especially for the elderly. Morning July 22, International City Hospital has successfully organized “Knowing Osteoporosis, Knee Pain and Back Pain in the Elderly" Seminar.
Joining the seminar, there're former patients, current patients of CIH and many of newcomers as well.
Within the framework of providing the free medical knowledge and consultations with healthcare professionals program, City International Hospital proudly welcomed almost 100 guests with the age of 45 years and over. Dr. Pham Chi Lang, Head of Orthopedic Department at City International Hospital shared knowledge about osteoporosis in the elderly. Guests particularly had a better understanding and knowing about osteoporosis, risks of getting osteoporosis, osteoporosis signs and symptoms and positive treatments.
Dr. Pham Chi Lang also shared that: “These days, the majority of older adults who find themselves in pain either at their joints or bones, very often take drugs over the counter and that’s it. We should know that over the counter aka non-description drugs are not only for temporary use of pain relief but also in collaboration with leaving many unknown side effects. That is why it is mandatory to treat any types of consistent pain found in your body in a medically-approved-manner such as having regular check-ups, getting specialist consultations for the root-cause of all health issues for the most effective treatments.”
Last but not least, Dr. Pham Chi Lang kindly answered many of the concerns and questions from the audience. Most questions have been thoroughly explained in details which brought out understanding, satisfaction and peace in mind to the audience.
Public Health education overall purpose carried throughout this “Knowing Osteoporosis, Knee Pain and Back Pain in the Elderly" Seminar is so meaningful, helpful and practical in order to provide medical information to help people stay protectively healthy and live happily with their family. It is also an opportunity for all daughters, sons and grandkids to take care of their beloved grandparents and to understand the importance of health preventive screening in older adults, especially when it comes to problems with bones and joints.
