23 Feb 2020, City International Hospital, Aeon Mall & Vietnam National Institute of Science are working together to hold a Blood Donation Drive,

Benefits

By donating blood, many lives are saved and hope is given to many whose situation might otherwise be hopeless. It also brings joy to many; you impact not only the patient whose life may depend on your donation, but also all those who depend on that patient.

  • Reduces the risk of Heart diseases, Stroke: Blood donation could improve the overall cardiovascular health. Donating blood regularly helps reduce the amount of iron in their blood, which reduces the chances of a heart attack by 88 per cent. The high level of iron in the blood raises the chance of heart disease, but regular donation can reduce the risk of severe cardiovascular veins, such as stroke, by 33 per cent.
  • Reduces The Risk of Cancer: The reduction of iron stores and iron in the body while giving blood can reduce the risk of cancer. Iron has been thought of to increase free-radical damage in the body and has been linked to an increased risk of cancer and aging,
  • Burns Calories: People burn approximately 650 calories per donation of one pint of blood. A donor who regularly donates blood can lose a significant amount of weight, but it should not be thought of as a weight loss plan by any means. However, donors are required to weigh at least 42 kg (for females) and 45 kg (for males) and maintain healthy iron levels in the body. You should choose to donate your blood safely and about every 3 months (not more often) as this will affect your health and blood levels of hemoglobin and iron.
  • Provides A Free Blood Analysis: upon donation, donors are tested for syphilis, HIV, hepatitis, and other diseases. Blood donors have a lower risk of developing life-threatening diseases.

When you come to donate blood on 23 February 2020, Free milk, food, ‘thank-you’ cash and certificate of participation will be presented to you to show our appreciation. We can always do more to help others. Your contributions will go a long way to help patients who need blood and build resilience in our community.
