Herniated Disc in the lower back (lumbar) area and Herniated disc pain p shared by Dr. Huynh Hong Chau, neurosurgeon

"1.7% of the population is suffering from lumbar disc herniation. Most people who suffer from back pain can be completely restored with the aid of training and various strategies to manage the pain. However, these patients are often instead given much more aggressive treatment that in some cases risks prolonging the condition," says Dr. Dr Huynh Hong Chau - Head of Neurology Department. In order to identify yourself with a lumbar disc herniation, people need to be aware of the following: "(1) prior spine problems; (2) Pain down the back of each leg from the buttocks to the knee or beyond; (3) Pain with movement, straining, coughing, or doing leg raises, (4) Difficulty controlling bowel movements or bladder function (5) Severe back pain after an injury should be evaluated by a health-care professional. Warning signs of more serious injury include pain with coughing or urinating, loss of control of the bowels or bladder, new leg weakness, and fever. These additional symptoms require medical evaluation."
