Saigon Giai Phong Online Press - Surgeons of the City International Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City have performed an operation on a baby girl who is suffering congenital constriction ring syndrome with hand and feet deformity.

Before, when the baby was two months old, she was undergoing the first surgical correction to separate fingers in the right hand
Amniotic band syndrome is a rare condition caused by strands of the amniotic sac that separate and entangle digits, limbs, or other parts of the fetus. This constriction can cause a variety of problems depending on where strands are located and how tightly they are wrapped.
The developing fetus floats in amniotic fluid in the mother's uterus. What keeps the fluid around the fetus and in the uterus is a sac. This sac has two layers which are stuck together: the outermost layer which lines the uterus is called the "chorion", and the layer closer to the fetus is called the "amnion".
The mother of the infant said during her regular prenatal checkups, doctors had told her about the condition of the baby. Though she and her husband were very sad, they still believed with after operation, the baby will have normal hand and feet.
This is a difficult case because the baby was too young to undergo a surgery because separation of deep vessels is very dangerous; hence, doctors decided to carry out two operations.
After the surgery, the baby was recovering soon.
