Preparing for Your Colonoscopy (Pre-Gastroscopy)
- Patients fast and fast from 12pm if the procedure is scheduled in the morning or at least 6-8 hours before the procedure.
- Abstain from drinking before 2 hours during sedation.
- Do not take gastric medicine and antibiotics before gastroscopy for at least 2 weeks.
- Do not drink colored beverages (coffe, tea, carbonated soft drinks ...)
- Explain the procedure and the desire to have cooperation during the procedure.

- An appointment must be made with the Endoscopy department by phone unless advised by a doctor.
- Ensure privacy and explain the procedure to the patient and loved one if sedation is performed with the anesthesiologist.
- Check and check the checklist before performing the procedure according to the instructional process.
- Instruct the patient to change into a surgical gown and to use the toilet before the procedure.
- Instruct the patient to lie on the bed and lift the bars to prevent falls.
- Give the patient tranquilizer as ordered (if any).
