You should never think that lung cancer often appears in smokers, because in fact, anyone can be a "victim" of the disease. Here are 6 "silently" signs of worrying about the appearance of lung cancer.

Coughing and wheezing

Coughing and wheezing may be due to obstruction in the airway by cancerous growths. When the airway is constricted or narrowed, passing air can cause breathing to wheeze or sound like a whistling sound when moving.

Chest pain

The chest wall has many nerve fibers connected to each other, so when lung cancer enters the chest, it can cause chest pain, even very pain. According to the American Cancer Society, pain can be aggravated by deep breathing, coughing, or laughing. However, chest pain can also be a side effect of coughing too much and not necessarily a sign that cancer is growing in the chest wall, chronic coughs can stretch muscles and chest pain.

Not only smokers, but anyone can become a "victim" of lung cancer.

Hoarseness

A hoarse, weak or weak voice can be an underlying sign of lung cancer. This means the vocal cords cannot close and you need vocal cords to cough, sing and speak. Hoarseness can also be a symptom of laryngeal cancer - a cancer that is also linked to smoking.

Shortness of breath

Dyspnea can be a result of a blockage in the lungs due to a tumor that hinders the amount of air entering the lungs. But it can also be a sign of fluid buildup between the lungs and the chest wall. This happens when the cancer invades the lymphatic system and venous structure - the organ responsible for allowing fluid to drain from the chest. If there is a blockage in these areas, the liquid will not be able to escape, resulting in accumulation.

Shortness of breath, chest tightness is a sign of the risk of lung cancer.

Suffering from lung diseases

If you often have pneumonia, you need to think about the risk of lung cancer. When cancer blocks the smaller airways in the lungs, it facilitates the growth of bacteria, which can lead to infection.

To find the disease early, you need to have a check every 6 months as well as screenings for lung cancer.

The signs seem to be unrelated to the lungs

Lung cancer can also cause a number of conditions that seem unrelated to the lungs, causing many to ignore such signs as drooping eyes, body swelling or unexplained weight gain. Cancer in the upper part of the lung can cause nerve strain leading to the eyes and face, can cause eyelid drooping, smaller pupils or reduced sweating on one side of the face. This is called Horner syndrome.

Massive tumor tumors over a large vein that pass through the upper part of the right lung can cause blood vessel blockage. According to the American Cancer Society, this condition can cause swelling of the face, neck, arms and chest, accompanied by headache and dizziness. Some lung cancers also release hormone analogs that affect other organs in the body - called Paraneoplastic syndrome. Depending on the specific syndrome, they can have a big impact, from weight gain to fatigue or breast development in men. However, he also said that these symptoms occur rarely and are unlikely that they will lead to lung cancer, but should still be wary of any signs.

Get checked out if symptoms of lung cancer are found
