Pregnancy and childbirth are a practical need and a vocation of a woman. However, there are some women who have different medical conditions that can make it difficult to conceive.

What are some possible causes of female infertility?

In order to conceive, on the day of ovulation, the oocyte released from the ovary is taken by the speaker and placed into the fallopian tube. Intercourse at about this time, the sperm from a woman's vagina moves through the cervix to the uterine cavity and to the fallopian tubes. At 1 in 3 outside the fallopian tubes, sperm and ovum meet, then fertilization occurs. The fertilized ovum is called a zygote, growing and forming an embryo. During the first 5 days after fertilization, the embryo moves gradually from the fallopian tube to the uterus thanks to the hairs moving on the surface of the fallopian tube mucosa. Upon arrival in the uterus, the embryo implants here and gradually develops into a fetus.

In addition to normal sperm conditions, a woman who wants to conceive naturally, in addition to sperm quality, should have:

  • The vulva, vagina and cervix can have sex, allowing sperm to move up the uterus.
  • The ovule follicles from the ovary are released on the day of ovulation.
  • The fallopian tubes must be well-connected, fully functional from the speaker to the action of the hairs.
  • The uterus can help embryos to implant and fetuses grow

Pregnancy and childbirth are miracles for women.

Conditions that affect fertility

Vaginal, vaginal and cervical pathologies: vaginal abnormalities such as the hymen, caustic septum, vaginal aplasia, cervical perforation. In these cases, women do not have periods, have difficult or impossible intercourse. You need to see a doctor and can be treated with surgery.

Ovarian pathology:

Polycystic ovary syndrome (ICD) is a disorder related to hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance, which causes a lot of symptoms: irregular menstrual cycle, no menstruation, hirsutism, acne, overweight, hair loss , ovaries have many cysts when ultrasound ... The cause of this syndrome is because the ovaries are unable to produce hormones at the normal rate, which can lead to sparse or no ovulation, usually expressed through menstrual status (2-3 months or every few years a new period). Women with polycystic ovaries are usually those with an abnormal increase in testosterone and LH levels, which will disrupt the growth of the follicle. Ovaries appear many small cysts (from 6 - 10 follicles <10mm) because the follicle fails to develop, the egg cannot mature and there is no ovulation, due to the decline of fertility for women with IWT. Women who suffer from the above symptoms need to be examined and treated appropriately.

Abscess 2 ovaries:

a condition of pus accumulation and infectious agents in 2 ovaries. The cause usually starts with a sexually transmitted infection of the cervix, which then spreads to the ovaries and fallopian tubes. This infection is very serious and can lead to infertility.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis in the ovary is a condition in which the lining of the uterus develops outside the uterus. The presence of this endometriosis mass changes the structure, anatomy of the ovaries and pelvis, affecting fertility.

Ovarian cancer:

a malignant tumor that occurs in the ovaries, where the ovaries produce and release female sex hormones, estrogen and progestrogen. Most ovarian cancer patients are diagnosed at a later stage. When ovarian cancer is found, the treatment is surgical removal and chemotherapy.

Premature ovarian failure: is the phenomenon of premature aging of the ovaries, stop functioning in women after puberty and before age 40. When experiencing this condition, women will have the same symptoms as aging women ovaries at menopause. It is followed by irregular menstrual periods, osteoporosis, depression, anxiety and the most dangerous is the negative effect on reproductive health, even infertility.

Immune factors:

Autoimmune diseases such as autoimmune thyroiditis may be accompanied by early ovarian failure.

Premature ovarian

Premature ovarian failure due to treatment: Women who have both or one ovary removed may cause the dysfunction of the ovaries to cause premature ovarian failure before age 40.

  • Idiopathic ovarian failure: Sudden menopause is also one of the most important causes of premature ovarian failure, which often occurs in women of childbearing age, with clinical manifestations: menstrual bleeding, gradual, at the same time appear menopausal symptoms such as: frustration, irritability, vaginal dryness, hot flashes ...
  • Viral infections: Pathogenic viruses such as the herpes simplex virus (HSV), the mumps virus can cause ovarian inflammation that damages the ovaries causing premature ovarian failure.
  • Excess weight loss: causing the amount of fat inside the body to drop quickly, affecting the amount of estrogen in the body, menstrual disorders, menstrual periods, premature failure of the ovaries.
  • Bad living habits: smoking, drinking alcohol.
  • Excessive stress: over time can disrupt plant nerve function, affect hormonal regulation in the body, impair early ovarian function, reduce estrogen hormones that cause premature ovarian failure.
  • Fallopian tube disease: Due to tubular obstruction, tubal fluid retention and pelvic inflammatory disease: these conditions may be caused by gynecological conditions such as vaginitis, neck inflammation. uterus, pelvic infection ... or history of pelvic surgery.

Uterine pathology

Endometrial polype: is a disease caused by an overgrowth of the gland and endometrial stroma. The size of polyps can range from a few millimeters to several centimeters, the number may be one or more, the structure is peduncle or stemless. Uterine polyps are one of the causes of infertility in women. When the size is large, or polyps affect sperm movement and egg nest.

Endometritis: is an inflammation of the uterus, usually caused by some non-sterile intrauterine interventions such as abortion, biopsy, insertion, loop. The disease can also occur after birth, after caesarean section if there is placenta retention or prolonged uterine fluid ... Endometritis if not treated properly can cause dangerous complications such as infections. blood, adhesion of the uterus, inflammation of the appendages causing obstruction of the uterus and the end result is infertility due to sperm not meeting eggs for fertilization, fertilized eggs can not return to the uterus, the uterus is not guaranteed to function for nesting eggs.

Endometrial cancer is a cancer that develops from the endometrium. The disease occurs most often in people over 50, but also appears at reproductive age. It is the result of the abnormal growth of cells that are able to invade, spread to other parts of the body. Manifestations such as abnormal vaginal bleeding, excessive vaginal discharge, foul odor, pelvic pain ..

Uterine adhesion: The phenomenon of anterior and posterior uterine wall sticking together due to the deep damaged endometrium is called uterine adhesion. Causes of uterine adhesion such as abortion, uterine surgery, genital tuberculosis. At that time, the endometrium cannot regenerate normally, leading to serious damage to the ability to make an egg's nest after conception.

Uterine pathology

Uterine fibroids (UXTC) are the most common benign tumor of the uterus. Tumors form from the smooth muscle of the uterus. Most women develop this disease during reproductive age. Most UXTC does not affect pregnancy. It is estimated that between 5 and 10% of women with IUD have infertility. Lumps that are large, or in abnormal locations, such as under the mucosa or near the fallopian tube, make it difficult to conceive.

Endometriosis in uterine muscle is a benign disease, common in women aged 35-50 years accounting for about 5-10%. This is the glandular tissue of the endometrial layer present inside the muscular layer of the uterus. The most common symptom is severe menstrual cramps. The disease makes it difficult to conceive and affects the fetal development.

Uterine sarcoma is rare, only accounting for 1-3% of uterine cancers, but the level of risk and recurrence is high, even in the early stages of the uterine disease, making it one of the most serious malignancies in gynecology. In general, the disease is often detected late, the disease is usually diagnosed after the results of the cells in women who have had fibroids or uterus removed because of fibroids.

Married women should have regular gynecological exams so that doctors can detect them early and treat conditions that can affect pregnancy. From there, I can perform a woman's vocation and bring happiness to the family.
