Specifically, immediately after receiving a positive result from the CIH Laboratory for the above patient, the hospital's Standing Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control reported and coordinated with the Preventive Medicine Center of Binh Tan District and the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City to transfer the patient for quarantine, and simultaneously checked and reviewed the entire process of receiving this patient, as well as assessed the risk of infection if any.

CIH has been highly appreciated by the Preventive Medicine Center of Binh Tan District and the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Health of Ho Chi Minh City in the prevention of the Covid-19, in the settlement after the detection of the positive case, and the proper report to the authorities.

Associate Professor Ph.D., Dr.Tran Quang Binh, Deputy Medical Director of City International Hospital said: “As soon as the screening test result was positive for a patient with suspected factors of being infected with Covid-19, the response team of City International Hospital was activated to send this patient in a negative pressure isolation room for infected patients at the hospital. At the same time, an RT-PCR test to confirm the diagnosis of Covid-19 was performed.

Immediately after that, the hospital sprayed, disinfected the screening area which received this patient, extracted the camera to track the patient's movement, zoned, and made a list of people related to the patient’s examination. The RT-PCR test result was positive at 6:20 pm on 5th June 2021 which showed that the patient was infected with SARS Co-V-2. The hospital reported it to the Center for Preventive Medicine of Binh Tan District and the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City to ask for guidance. The patient was transferred for quarantine at Can Gio field hospital under the supervision of the staff of the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City at 7:25 pm on 5th June 2021.

At the end of July 2020, City International Hospital also received two Covid-19 positive cases. Thanks to the good implementation of the screening and quarantine process according to the standards of the Ministry of Health, all hospital staff, patients, and relatives were safe from infection.

From the end of April 2021, under the direct guidance of the Department Of Health of HCM City, CIH has increased the steps in the patient screening process in the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic. At 02 entrances to the hospital building, electronic medical declaration points are arranged to screen patients according to the standard form issued by the Department of Health.

At the same time, CIH has also deployed the use of the rapid test for SARS-CoV-2 antigen in combination with the exploitation of epidemiological factors to initially determine whether patients are safe or suspected of being infected with Covid 19. The epidemiological Screening process is carried out outside the main building of the hospital to ensure that all activities inside the hospital are not affected.

To ensure continuous and safe medical examination and treatment at CIH, the hospital has completed vaccination against COVID-19 for the staff working at the hospital.

As of the end of May 2021, more than 300 employees at CIH have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the second dose is expected in the middle of June 2021. In parallel with the epidemic prevention and control process, CIH has organized many training sessions and updated knowledge about the disease situation, clinical manifestations, and measures to treat and prevent the Covid-19 epidemic for medical staff.

Therefore, CIH's medical team has strictly followed and performed well its role in epidemic prevention to bring safety to themselves and the community to avoid cross-infection in the hospital. The hospital's Quality Management Department has organized monitoring the compliance and promptly adjusted deficiencies if any when detected.

In August 2020, CIH was recognized by the Ministry of Health as a SAFE HOSPITAL. The hospital achieved 87.3% according to the set of criteria "Safe hospital to prevent Covid-19 and other respiratory infections" issued by the Ministry of Health”.

With the capacity of facilities and equipment, a team of staff with screening, quarantine, and testing process according to the standard of the Ministry of Health, CIH is still one of the safest private medical units and performs well in the prevention against the COVID-19 epidemic.
